El Rancho
On the 10th of September my class and a few others went to El Rancho camp. In the morning our classes went into the hall my teacher called out the roll. Afterwards, me and my two friends Nicky and Drew went outside. We got to leave early because my mum and Jesse were taking us. The car ride was nice but loud before hand I had brought lollies and we all got a sugar rush. When we arrived at El Rancho we were the only ones there. After we got out of the car I saw a goat but as soon as I touched it he attacked me so I just ran over to the tramp instead. After a few minutes all of the kids arrived in cars and buses so we climbed up the hill and sat down. The lady told us some safety rules and split us up into groups. Luckily, Nicky and Drew were in mine.
Our first activity was kayaking I was really excited about this one and it was as good as expected. We put on life jackets and picked a kayak. I was pushed into the water and I started paddling. After everyone was in we went under the bridge to the big part of the water. After a while of free paddling the lady who was in charge told us to get into a line we all assembled a line and held onto each others kayaks. Then we were told to stand up and say our names and a animal starting with the same letter. I started to think of a animal starting with a N. I couldn't say Narwhal because a girl named Nakia had already said it so in panic I said Nemo fish. After we did that everyone started to get out. I went to get changed and we headed over to our next activity.
We walked over to the Archery shed and sat down. The men told us how to shoot a arrow. Everyone were really good some people even hit the target first try. When It was my turn I was pretty nervous but I was actually kinda good after a few turns I started hitting red (the one by bulls eye.)
Then we did a escape the room i really thought this would be good but it kinda sucked I don't really have anything to say so yeah we had to find clues and stuff.
Overall it was a good day.

Salva Dut Essay
In the Novel A Long Walk To Water written by Linda Sue Park, a young 11 year old boy named Salva Dut showed that he was Brave, Strong and kind. He displayed all of these qualities after his village of Lunarik was attacked, and he had to flee in to the forest, leaving his old life behind.
At the beginning of the novel Salva was incredibly sad and alone. He had been left alone by his school and a old lady. He was deserted, left with nothing. After awhile another group came. They were his tribe but they still didn't accept him. Then a lady stood up and reminded them Salva was Dinka to. But they still tried to exclude him saying he slow them down. He had walked for so long and he was starving and Dehydrated. He had made a friend named Mariel. He also found his Uncle Jewiir who had been off in the war. After awhile his Uncle was the leader of the group and Salva was well feed but it was to good to last well they were sleeping his friend Mariel was eaten by a lion. Salva carried on the walk thinking about Mariel. As they walked on further Salva wanted to give up but his uncle told him "You just have to make it to that rock." After a few days of walking they found a forest. As the group settled down the rebels attacked making everyone get on there knees. They took Salvas uncle and his gun and shot him through the head.
After his uncles death Salva was excluded from the group once again. As the walk to Ethiopia continued the adults started to complain about how Salva would slow them down. Finally, after months of being tired and mistreated he made it to the refuge camp. As crowds of people pushed each other in he thought he saw his mother. He shoved every one out the way if he didn't find her now he would never find her again. After a few minutes of pushing and shoving he realised that what his uncle had told him "Almost no one survived" was just a better way to say his family was dead. Salva stood there in silence. Six years Salva had spent in that camp the shortage of food was drastic. As if life wasent hard enough one day it got a whole lot worse. Rebels, driving in on big trucks chasing them out. Salva heard someone say that they were chasing them to the river. There were crocodiles in the river. As Salva stumbled into the river he felt a arm wrap around his neck he was pulled under by the currents he felt the arms let go. He looked back the young boy that was clinging on had bullet in his neck. Salva got to the other side and ran. Some how Salva had became the leader of 1500 kids. They looked up to him and after months of walking he managed to get 1000 kids to another camp. 10 years Salva had lived in this camp and this one was worse then the last. But it all got better when Michel came. Michel helped Salva speak English and he also helped him get to New York.
As Salva looked down from the aeroplane window he saw all the cars and all the roads. When he got of the plane it was freezing. He walked forward and said hello to his new family. There were two parents and two kids. When he got home he was given a huge pile of clothes. He had a good life with his new family but one night he received a email. The email said that Salvas father was sick. he couldn't believe it his dad was alive. Salva headed to Sudan straight away. When he found his dad he was overwhelmed with happiness and to make it better his dad told him his mum his two sisters and one of his three brothers was alive. He wanted to go see them right away but the war was still going.
Salva waited till the war was over and well it was still going he went to all the schools and talked to them about his family and how there is almost no clean water in South Sudan. So when the war was over Salva gave water to everyone in South Sudan including his enemy the Nuer tribe.
This the essay I wrote based on a character named Salva Dut.

Quickly, Andy sprinted from his house tears streaming down his face a horrible thing thing had just happened. You see he lived a normal life with normal parents in a normal house. But he wasn't normal not at all. He could see things other people couldn't and hear things no one else can. He slowed down now then it all came back to him last year at his friends sleep over this lady with thin black hair and scary eyes leaped over to him and she whispered in his ear “ Kill them or we will do it for you.” He thought it was a dream but in the morning all 8 of his friends bodies were found strung up on the washing line. And on every one of their tops was blood and written with the blood was tick tock. He went to school the next month and no one talked to him. As he walked down the hallway everyone moved and stared. And since this was to much he moved.
Now finally he thought his life was normal but when he got up at 3:09 to grab a drink of water a red liquid dripped on his face he looked up and screamed. He stood there stunned and he broke down on the ground the lady crawled over to him he looked at her and moved back. She crawled closer making strange noises and twitching her head. He screamed and shouted but no one could hear him not even his family because they were stuck up on the ceiling with knifes holding them in place. “Tick tock.” she croaked as she ran. He sat there in tears then he realised that today was the 25th of June the same day all his friends died. He sat there on the ground crying. Suddenly a noise from the laundry broke the silence he sat up and walked in and there was his baby brother he hugged him but then the baby disappeared.
He was confused, sad and angry. So he went to his room and grabbed his clothes some food and some comics. He wiped his eyes and left sprinting through the woods crying. He knew anyone who was close to him would die a horrible death so he had to leave his old life behind.

Zoos should be banned. As they are fun the animals are depressed. I went to the zoo when I was five and the animals were happily living their lives but now after six years of captivity they are depressed. The gorillas for example used to swing and do tricks now they just sit there and do nothing. Or the lions who hide behind the rocks instead of coming up to the glass.
Also the enclosures. The gorilla enclosures has dried up grass and a dirty river. They don't want that they want to be free and run and play. There's not even a tree in the enclosure not one. They weren't made to sit down and have none ripe food at them.
How do they get the animals? It not like oh come hop in my truck and live the rest of your life in misery. No they would have to hurt and shoot the animals. I do however agree with rehabilitation centres. Help the animals and let them go but zoos they just ruin animals lives.

part 5 discussion questions
1. I think that his leadership technics are good because he gives them two chances then he gets angry.
2. I think Salvas leading skills are different to the bosses Salva is always kind and the boss gets mad.
3. I think he helped him because hes kind and strong salva wanted to learn from Michael because hes smart.
4. the lost boys are the orphan boys from south Sudan that were selected to go to America. I would be scared and sad but happy and excited.

Climate change
If I could get rid of one problem facing the world it would be climate change. Climate change is going to end the world and no one even cares. For example the big factories like power plants just let the pollution in the air. And the only people worrying are the people that are going to be alive when the world ends.
I've seen a lot of things about how my generation will be the ones who will have to fix this. I'm not saying that all adults don't care but still the people causing it don't even care about fixing it because it won't be there problem in the future. People with all the money like big business owners don't really care and would rather spend their money on things that are not threatening the human race.
Like when the Notre-dame fire when they spend 1 billion dollars to fix it when it could be going to saving the earth. I mean sure its a very old historical building but do you know whats older? Earth. I mean the Notre-dame wouldn't even exist if Earth didn't. I'm just saying the people who just say it's not my problem I wont be alive to have to deal with it are pretty selfish.
Not to mention the ice caps melting and all the polar bears dying.

1. The group doesn't want Salva to come along. They think that because hes a child he will moan and slow them down. I think that that's unfair because hes dinka to.
2. Water controls Nya's life because she doesn't have a choice to get the water for her family.
3. Following birds will get you to honey. Don't annoy bees. Don't get eaten by a lion. I think Salva is doing very well because he did not die.
4. At the lake the shelter is a lot worse but Nya doesn't have to walk 8 hours to get water. The safety at camp Is alot worse because the dinka could start a war.

1. Salva is 11 and hes part of the Dinka tribe. he has two sisters Akit and Agnath, two older brothers Ring and Arik and a younger brother Kvol. The Dinka tribe have a enemy The Nuer tribe. Salva's country's law is for every one to learn Arabic because the president Was taken over by people who want every one to speak Islam. I'm not much like him
2. Where is my family? When will i see them again? Were am I going? are the three thoughts he had going to his mind when he was walking. I think those would be my thoughts but maybe I would be thinking how I would escape the group.
3.every morning it would take Nya 8 hours would go to the river she would like it much more going there than back because on the way back she had to carry containers full of water in the hot South Sudan desert. If I was Nya I wouldn't be able to do it every day. It would be horrible.
4. The way the tribes tell each other apart Is the marks on there body. the Dinka tribe have a V on there foreheads. I don't know what the Nuer tribe has. I cant really tell other students apart unless they tell me.
Super otters part 1
It was stormy, dark and rough when all of a sudden crack! Half of the boat broke in half swallowing everything into the sea. Ricky grabbed onto the mast as the boat slowly sunk. He swung one leg over and balanced himself on the mask he grabbed a flare and shot it up. Meanwhile in the super otter base. “Sir the weasels tried to break in again” squeaked a female otter Debra.
“Frame them” replied the leader.
“How?”
“Do you still have one in the prison?”
“Yes” “Cut of his hair put it in a chicken coop and then kill the chickens.”
“Yes sir the public will kill them in no time.” with that Debra ran of. As the leader was sitting down an otter came in with some photos. “What's this he said”
“Umm photos sir photos of someone in trouble that light there is what the humans call flare gun and..”
“That's enough Jerry take a breather”
“Michel get in here set up a rescue team”
“YES SIR” As the otters paddled around the ocean they saw another flare.
TO BE CONTINUED.

The Rocket Challenge.
Yesterday My team launched a rocket. Ours didn't go far but we tried. ours broke and crashed but at least we did not lose. I enjoyed making it and I think next time I will try a bit harder to win. BTW ours made it 14 meters. Our rocket wasn't too flash and it fell apart. The next rocket I make will have smaller fins, less tape and less hot glue. Something I have learnt over the last seven weeks is to make sure I am more on task, as at times I was distracted and then had to rush at the end.

The lucky baby
“Quickly”, said mum in a stern way.
She grabbed me and nestled me in the box of hay.
My Dad and his friend leaped it the boat. We heard bangs and screams behind us.
As we were paddling along calmer now we heard ripples in the lake my mother turned around
and saw that there was a huge war ship coming right for us.
Without thinking my dad and his friend jumped off the boat. They swam up to the ladder on the
huge
ship they ran over to the
bow and my mum chucked up there spears.
But then a man in a navy uniform came up and shot him through the head.
Suddenly my dad turned around he stabbed the spear through his chest.
Smartley, my dad jumped onto our boat he knew he couldn't have taken them on his own.
We paddled faster now there hand grenades hitting the water.
They couldn't hit us with their hands so they turned to machines. (now imagine this in slow mo.)
one was heading right for our boat my dad grabbed my and passed me to my mum.
She hugged me and jumped into the water in a flash of light the ship was gone.
The army must have thought we were dead because they left us.
My mum swam us to a island and we fell asleep. GRRRR my mother opened one eye.
She noticed that the noises were wolves. She slowly got up. Six pairs of glowing yellow eyes.
One barked she jumped and grabbed me.
The wolves ran after her, she grabbed a huge leave from a palm tree.
Quickly she put me on to it and let it float away. I watched her trying to fight of the wolves.
Then getting dragged away digging her hands into the dirt.
Silently I floated only to be rescued by a family. As a kid I would wonder if she survived.

Apocalypse
Quickly, I ran down the hallway. My oldest brother grabbed the twins from there room. Me and my 11 sibling looked out the window in terror. It was dark and stormy. There were 7 tornadoes all in different places of our town creatures coming out of the air and screeching. “Get down to the basement now” said my oldest brother. Him and my older sisters ran out to the garage i am the fourth oldest. I grabbed all 7 of my siblings and we ran to the basement. We heard the window smash behind us then the screech again. Now 1000 times louder we all blocked our ears. I told my siblings to get to the basement. The creature was black and smiley it had a body like a spider a head like a dog but with no eyes and a huge mouth. It jumped on top of me it's slime dripping on my face I screamed. Luckly, just in time my 5 year old brother who had not listened hit it on the back with a knife. It turned around he dropped the knife and screamed. Quickly, I grabbed a pole from dads camping kit and I rammed it through its stomach It roared with pain. Several more dropped through the roof i grabbed my little brothers hand and we ran. I slammed the door closed and put the pole through the handle. We sat there in silence we heard our older siblings swinging axes and killing the monsters. Crash one of the monsters arms came through the door. I pushed the little window open we climbed out we ran of after years only a 10th of humanity was left Most of my family had died including me.

Science Roadshow 2019
On 26.03.19 my class and I watched the Science roadshow in the school hall. They had lots of cool experiments my favourite was the bed of nails. Its exactly what it sounds like its a bed you lie down on it sounds painful but its not. there was also this thing and you put a drop of any type of drink and look threw a hole and you see how much sugar is in it the drink with the most sugar was the energy drink. They also changed the colour of fire and made elephant tooth paste. we learnt about atoms and gravity Atoms make up every thing and gravity is the thing that pull things to the ground. We also learnt about how when the car crashes and your not wearing your seat belt you go flying out the window because your body is still moving.
